Drivers in Maxoptra represent the drivers of your fleet. They are assigned to vehicles and are used for building routes.
To create or manage your drivers, make sure the selected role is Account Administrator and you are on the Drivers page of the Settings tab:
Click "Add" to create a new driver:
Fill in the driver name and select the Distribution centre and the vehicle this driver is assigned to:
You can change these parameters later at any time.
The Cost per hour is used for calculating the sole cost of the schedule for Maxoptra to optimise.
You can specify the Driving limit, Run duration limit and Duty time limit for each driver individually by enabling the checkboxes next to those fields. If you do not, the default set on the Distribution centre will be applied.
The Availability hours configuration is used to set up the driver's availability. Select the days this driver is working on and specify the earliest start and the latest finish times.
Please note that Maxoptra will optimise and suggest the actual start and finish times for each route it builds. Those times will remain within these boundaries set here and take into account the limits specified above. For example, if the driver availability is set at 05:00 a.m. till 08:00 p.m., which is a fifteen-hours window and the total duty time limit is set to eleven hours, Maxoptra will select the eleven-hour working shift, such as 07:00 a.m. till 06:00 p.m., which is within the fifteen-hours availability window and fits the planned orders best.
If your drivers start at a fixed time and you would like them to begin work straight away, you can specify this by checking the Start driving exactly at the shift start box.
For multi-day routes, you can select Same day and Next day or Day +2 to make two-day or three-day shifts:
Remember, if you are creating multi-day routes, then you must also increase the Driving limit and Duty time limit accordingly.
